People and technology – the perfect combination for Martin Gundlach. He understands technology and can determine needs. Martin Gundlach strives to offer his customers comprehensive solutions for their requirements. He first encountered the topic of documentation while studying electrical engineering at the Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences. 

“I find the combination of conveying complex issues and choosing the “right” language for this very exciting. It all started when I was introduced to the topic of human–machine interfaces during an internship at the Fraunhofer Institute (IAO) in the 1990s and has been a common theme throughout my career ever since.” 

His work as a technical editor and project and segment manager at a large documentation service provider was another step towards setting up his own company. In 2003, Martin Gundlach founded Dokuwerk KG together with Grit Mückstein.“ I find it fantastic what we have built at Dokuwerk since then. Of course, this achievement was only possible with a team that shares our own ideas. ” 

Every project at Dokuwerk is technologically diverse and innovative. Describing new things and developing future-proof solutions for his customers is particularly exciting for Martin Gundlach. The document industry is also continuously developing. New digital possibilities support the distribution of “intelligent information”. With Dokuwerk, Martin Gundlach strives to paves the way for his customers: “Digital transformation is already a reality. We want to provide our customers with intelligent solutions for a sustainable service.”

Grit Mückstein is in her element when large, complex data volumes need to be given a sensible structure. She is a system expert and solution developer. She excels at highlighting all technological and design possibilities and providing comprehensive advice. “My work thrives on information: Which products does the customer have? How do these differ from one another? How can the data be gathered efficiently, structured, distributed sensibly, and published? My main aim is to show our customers sustainable methods of achieving these tasks. Working in a solution-oriented manner while always bearing the customers’ needs in mind is my motivation for giving good advice.” 

Grit Mückstein studied information processing at the “Ingenieurschule für Elektronik und Informationsverarbeitung” (School of Engineering for Electronics and Information Processing) in Görlitz, now the “Zittau/Görlitz School of Applied Sciences”. After a few temporary positions, including in Berlin and Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate region, she started working as a technical editor at a large documentation service provider. Whilst there, her enthusiasm for technical product communication grew, and with it her desire for independence. In 2003, she founded Dokuwerk KG together with Martin Gundlach.

As well as operational tasks, Grit Mückstein is also responsible for HR management: “Our employees are our greatest asset. At Dokuwerk, appreciation of every single person and mutual respect are extremely important to me. Here, we support independence as well as a solution-oriented approach.” When it comes to her consulting tasks, she appreciates the complexity of her tasks. Be it design issues, process optimisation, or system deployment, it is important to Grit Mückstein not only to give Dokuwerk customers an overview, but also an outlook. “At the design phase, we are already thinking about distribution. Preparing the content in the system is the crucial point. ‘Intelligent information’ should also be designed intelligently.”
